Reddit Video Downloader
Paste a public Reddit post link below and download the video as MP4 — with sound, no app, no signup.
Working
Reddit keeps the video and the audio of a clip as two separate files — which is why most Reddit videos you save end up silent. saveXclip grabs both and gives you a single MP4 with the sound already merged in.
Any public Reddit post link works, including short links and the share links the mobile app generates. Private subreddits and removed posts can't be reached by anyone without an account, and we don't get around that.
No Reddit account, no browser extension, nothing to install. Paste, download, done.
How to use it
-
Copy the Reddit link
Open the Reddit post with the video. Tap the Share icon and choose "Copy link", or copy the URL from your browser's address bar.
-
Paste it on saveXclip
Paste the link into the input above and tap Download. saveXclip reads the post, finds the video and audio tracks, and prepares a merged MP4.
-
Save the MP4 with sound
Tap Download next to the "With sound" variant. Reddit's separate audio is merged in, so the file plays with sound everywhere.
FAQ
Is this free?
Yes. No fee, no account, no install.
Why do Reddit videos download without sound elsewhere?
Reddit stores video on v.redd.it as DASH — the picture and the audio are two separate files. Tools that just grab the video track give you a silent clip. saveXclip merges the audio back in.
Which Reddit links work?
Any public post: reddit.com/r//comments/... URLs, redd.it short links, and the share links the mobile app generates. Private subreddits and removed posts aren't accessible.
Why is one variant 'Video only'?
It's the raw v.redd.it video track with no audio — useful if you want the clip silent, or as a fallback. For sound, use the 'With sound' variant.
What about Reddit GIFs?
Reddit GIFs are silent by design — there's no audio track to merge, so you just get the clean video.
Do you store the videos?
No. We read the public post data on demand and don't keep copies.
Is it legal?
Downloading public content for personal use is generally fine, but you are responsible for respecting copyright and Reddit's terms. Don't republish someone else's video as your own.
